These charges caused hardship for a number of GPIAstudents and the student government petitioned the institution aboutthe problem. Through dialog the university were willing to implement amore reasonable policy. The following area few of the documents that were produced from this advocacy initiative and may sere as a model for future initiatives.

Current Student Government
President
Emily Molfino
Concentration: Conflict and SecurityAs a native Californian, I am thrilled to be on the east coast and in the City where the International is everywhere.
Trying to be as active as I can in GPIA, I am currently President of GPIA student government following being seceretary during the 2007-2008 school year.
Throughout my studies for my BA and currently for my MA, I have found myself increasingly interested in conflict and post conflict situations. Specifically the influence of the military and war on society and grassroots influence on conflict and peace. After graduation, I hope to continue my studies in a Ph.D. program and then take my studies into the United Nations.

Concentration: DevelopmentOriginally from Buffalo, NY (GO BILLS! GO SABRES!), I decided to come to NYC to pursue a Master's degree in International Affairs after completing a dual Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and Global & International Studies in college town Oswego, NY at SUNY Oswego.
I am a 2nd year student in the Development concentration although I'm really not sure what direction I want to take this degree.
I am currently the Vice President of GPIA and a General Studies Elected Representative for the University Student Senate.
