SEED IFP 2007
The SEEDS 2007 summer internship program will be open to a select number of GPIA students interested in and qualified to research and document the employment and livelihood activities of low-income women in the context of strategic opportunities and challenges that are shaping women's economic status within their developing national and global/regional economies. This internship is a research training opportunity.
Currently we expect the 2007 program to focus on initiatives to strengthen women's access to and control over sustainable employment and income generation (and the support services this requires) in one or two transitional economies in former communist countries (e.g.. Tajikistan, Bosnia, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia) or poor regions of Turkey. Participating students will have an opportunity to work with innovative community focused organizations, feminist researchers, and development institutions focused on poverty reduction and gender equitable economic growth.
Prerequisites: satisfactory completion of the Women and Economy course plus demonstrably strong analytical and writing skills.
