Candidate: Antina Von Schnitzler
Antina Von Schnitzler is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Reed College, and is expecting to receive her PhD in Anthropology in Spring 2010. Her research and teaching has focused on South African cities in the areas of citizenship, urban spaces and infrastructures and urban social movements. Her dissertation explores how urban infrastructure has become a political arena for the articulation of long-standing questions about the promise of citizenship in the aftermath of apartheid.
