The New School Graduate Program in International Affairs

Photo taken at largest monastery in southwest China located in Shangri-La in Yunnan Province and is called Ganden Sumtseling Gompa or Songzanlin Si; it is over 300 yrs old and has nearly 600 monks. The photo represents those who appear to be curious to know more about one another and who are from different cultures and different generations-those who look and dress so differently. One of the Kunming IFP participants, Mari Flora, is featured in the photo along with two monks in training who are performing part of their daily tasks.
