Sauti Yetu Center For African Women, Inc. is a non-profit organization linking social justice activism with scholarship to promote and protect the rights of immigrant African women and girls. Sauti Yetu means "Our Voice" in Swahili, a language spoken in most of east and central Africa. Our program areas include: Family Violence Prevention & Education, Girls' Empowerment & Leadership Initiative, FGC Policy & Advocacy, and Women's Empowerment.
Sauti Yetu Center for African Women is currently looking for graduate students to assist with research, editing and general administrative tasks. Candidates should have:
1) Strong research & writing skills;
2) Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under time constraints;
3) Able to work independently or as part of a team;
4) A commitment to social justice.
5) Proficiency in French speaking and writing preferred but not required.
Candidates must commit 15-20 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship.
