TOPIC:  HOMELESSNESS IN INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVE: WHAT THE U.S COULD LEARN FROM OTHERS

In this class session we discuss homelessness and homeless policy in international comparative perspective to ascertain what the U.S. could learn from other industrialized nation states, especially in the context of improving and expanding its patchy social safety net and fragile, if not counterproductive welfare arrangements. A look at Central and Northern Europe nation states in particular will allow us to start thinking about reforms.
