Objectives of the Project:

The India- China Institute Consulting Team (ICICT) will be responsible for addressing two inter-related objectives:

  1. To identify and analyze the primary objectives and activities of seleted US based organizations and institutions engaged in issues related to urbanization, trade, development, and culture in India and China.  In addition to the focus on the existing organizations and institutions, ICICT is expected to conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of recent publications (books, journlas, newspaper articles, etc.) and conduct interviews with selected individuals/ experts.  The number of organizations and focus of the specific aspect of this project will be mutually determined on the basis of findings from the preliminary research of the ICICT (February 24, 2005 - approximately). 
  2. To develop a three- year comprehensive project plan to launch and implement the "India China Fellows Program."

Expectations and Deliverables:

ICI is a new yet highly visible and intensive undertaking of the University.  It is important to note that the top leaders, including the President of the Provost of the University, are actively involved in the establishment of ICI.  The ICICT is expected to draw upon their high level of intellect, strong research and analytical skills, flexibility, and professional integrity to successfully complete the project assignment no later than May 12, 2005. 

The ICICT is expected to deliver the following:

  • Periodic reports and updates on the project plans and findings of the research
  • A professional report that addresses two objectives of the project assignment
  • A professional oral presentation to key stakeholders of ICI
