Mark Johnson
Mark Johnson (M.A., Columbia University) is GPIA Assistant Director of Practice-Based Learning and Assistant Professor of International Affairs. He coordinates Practice option curriculum, supervises the International Field Program (sending GPIA students overseas for the summer to intern and research), organizes and supervises the final project Practicum in International Affairs program, and teaches the skills courses Program Development and Project Management, and International Program Management, and coordinates the GPIA internship program.
Johnson has worked primarily in emergency relief, refugee resettlement and humanitarian aid for the International Rescue Committee, Center for International Rehabilitation, United Nations, and Human Rights Watch. He has worked in Pakistan, Sudan, Ethiopia, Cote d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Bosnia, Croatia, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador.
