Bio

I was born and raised in Santiago, Dominican Republic. I received a BA from the University of South Florida in 2005 and majored in International Studies with a focus on Russia and Latin America. At the New School, my interest is in Socioeconomic Development and Education, with a particular interest in India, the Caribbean and Latin America. After taking Dr. Cohen's and Margarita Gutman's class in Urban foundation I have, now, an inclined interest in urbanism. My goals in life are to hold a governmental position in the Dominican Republic that would enable me to facilitate change and improve people's lives. I was part of the International Field Program in Mumbai, India (Summer 2008) where I worked for Mahindra & Mahindra in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility under project Nanhi Kali. In addition to academics, I enjoy photography and the art documenting reality through images. Traveling and getting immerse in different cultures are my passions. During Fall 2008 I was an intern at the Council on Foreign Relations (cfr) in New York City and an intern at UNANIMA International. I am currently an intern at the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States under the Secretariat in the United Nations HQ.
