CYBERSECURITY:  A GLOBAL UPDATE

Presented by the New School Study Group on Economics and Security

Friday, January 27, 2012

The first meeting of the New School Study Group on Economics and Security for 2012 will be on Friday, January 27. The topic, Cybersecurity, has become increasingly important in recent years as the world of bits and bytes has become the backbone of both civilian and military infrastructure.

Our speakers are:  Sean Costigan, who directs MIT Cognet at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and teaches in the Global Studies Program at the New School, and Jake Perry, a writer, editor, and independent researcher and scholar focusing on the intersections of technology, society, and politics. He is a recent graduate of GPIA (MA, 2010).

Sean and Jake are co-editors of Cyberspaces and Global Affairs, Ashgate. 2012 (www.amazon.com/Cyberspaces-Global-Affairs-Sean-Costigan/dp/1409427544)

This meeting will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m., in room 510, 66 West 12th St., just east of Sixth Avenue.

Please RSVP to econsecurity@newschool.edu.

Future meetings are on March 2, March 30, and April 20, at the same location.
