Jamee K. Moudud
Jamee K. Moudud is currently an Assistant Professor in International Affairs and in the economics faculty at Sarah Lawrence College. He obtained his Ph.D. (honors) in economics from the New School for Social Research and both the B.S. (materials science and engineering) and M.Eng. (electrical engineering) degrees from Cornell University. His areas of interest include development and globalization, growth and cycles, and the role of the state. His current research is in two broad areas. The first entails using a new theoretical framework to econometrically estimate potential output for a large number of countries. The goal of this project is to utilize the potential output measures to carry out international estimates of long-run technological change and rates of profit. The second involves the study of globalization and openness on international inequalities between the OECD and Third World countries. The goal of this project is to gauge the impact of neo-liberal policies on the convergence and divergence of nations.
