Imagining Global Asia

imagining global asiaimagining global asia (iga) is a collective that takes Asian Studies beyond the classroom to investigate the challenges, victories and shifting identities of Asian cultures and people in a global world. iga combines educational and research initiatives with public events, multimedia projects, publications and web resources to foster an ongoing dialogue about imminent economic, political and cultural issues facing Asia today. iga examines these issues via the lens of media technologies focusing on the experiences of people who face the daily impacts of these shifting tides of globalization. Latin America Forum

Latin America ForumCurrently Latin America is evolving in unprecedented ways with dramatic political changes and a rethinking of its economic and social development models. Combining these shifts with Latin America’s multicultural character and diverse history provides for an interesting time in the region. These many transitions taking place in Latin America and the Caribbean had sparked the interest of several GPIA students and in Spring 2006 they created Latin America Forum. Latin America Forum emerged from a group of students who envisioned these exciting events as a great opportunity to stimulate and facilitate the discussion on the wide range of issues related to Latin America and the Caribbean. Project Africa

Project Africa logoProject Africa will serve as a site for both the exchange of ideas and a change of outlook. Academics, students and practitioners will be encouraged to create and promote a fresh representation of Africa as a diverse and potential-filled economic, social and political entity — and where necessary, be challenged to reexamine outdated conceptions of Africa.
