A valid passport and visa are required to enter Nepal. Apply for visas in person:

Visa applications are normally processed and issued in 7 business days.
- Travelers may also obtain visas upon arrival at the following locations:
- Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu
- Land border points of entry: Kakarvitta, Jhapa District (Eastern Nepal); Birgunj, Parsa District (Central Nepal); Kodari, Sindhupalchowk District (Northern Border); Belahia, Bhairahawa (Rupandehi District, Western Nepal); Jamunaha, Nepalgunj (Banke District, Mid-Western Nepal); Mohana, Dhangadhi (Kailali District, Far Western Nepal); and Gadda Chauki, Mahendranagar (Kanchanpur District, Far Western Nepal).
Visas can also be issued by mail: (not recommended)
Send your valid passport, a completed application, a passport photo, and a money order or cashiers check made out to the Embassy of Nepal with a self addressed envelope (and proper postage) to the Embassy of Nepal in DC (address below).
Visa Fees:
US $25.00 for 15 day multiple entry
US $40.00 for 30 day multiple entry
US $100.00 for 90 day multiple entry
Visas must be used within six months from date of issue.
Taxes:
Upon departure from Tribhuvan International Airport, all foreigners must pay an airport exit tax (currently approximately $27), regardless of the length of their stay. Tourists may stay in Nepal no longer than 150 days in any given calendar year.
