We all know the description of our concentration: "MC explores theory and practice in the intersection of politics, economics, press and entertainment, public and state policy, and international and domestic cultural conditions. In particular, MC focuses on the fascinating and complex relationship between media and democracy around the world. MC pays equal consideration to the role of state and private institutions, with attention to their positive and negative influences on the media in both democratic and non-democratic societies."

So What?

From News Media & Culture to Human Rights & Photography to the Politics of Cultural Memory to The Media & Politics of Propaganda, you know what courses you can take to fulfill the requirements for the concentration. But what exactly is the concentration? How do we ought to define it? What does it mean to you? What can you do with it? What have you done with it? What would like to do with it while at GPIA?

Here is the forum to discuss these and many other questions. The first MC meeting was on Sept 23rd 2009. Download the minutes here, and let's keep the conversation going!

We look forward to your thoughts and ideas, to your invaluable input. Thank you.

Nina & Lorena
