Global Studio IFP 2006

2006: Global Urban Studio (Multi-site)

The Global Urban Studio is a new IFP that focuses on the problems facing developing cities around the world. In the summer of 2006, students involved in the Global Urban Studio will work on two projects: one with the Department of Urban Planning in the Municipality of Bogota in Colombia, another in an urban evaluation project in 2 cities in francophone West Africa (Dakar, Senegal, and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.)

Preparation for these field projects will occur in New York during the spring 2006 semester, including studies of the respective cities and their local governments, evaluation of housing and infrastructure projects under implementation, and the development strategies underway in these cities.

Language Note: Students must be able to work in either Spanish or French to participate in these programs.
