The workshop introduces students to survey design, implementation and analysis. Surveying is one type of quantitative research and is often used in conjunction with qualitative methods. Students are introduced to the types of research questions that lend themselves the surveying method. Grounded theory will be used to discuss critical issues researchers must address when designing and implementing surveys. Question and survey design, the use of categories, sampling and types of surveys are reviewed. The session will be held in a computer lab where students will design their own surveys.
