Commencement 2010 Announcement

For the university-wide Commencement Ceremony at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden on Friday May 21st at 2:30pm, all petitioned graduates who indicated that they would be attending commencement will be provided with three (3) tickets for their guests. Tickets, as well as your cap and gown, will be available for pick-up at 66 W. 12th Street Room 510 from Monday 5/17-Wednesday 5/19 from 12-7pm.  During commencement, students' names will not be called out; students will only be acknowledged by division and department.  You will wear your cap and gown for this ceremony.

In addition, NSGS has two Recognition Ceremonies, one for undergraduates, and another for graduate students, for which you will be mailed invitations.  The undergraduate ceremony will be on Wednesday May 19th at 6:30 pm at Tishman Auditorium. The graduate ceremony will be on Thursday May 20th at 6:30 pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 12th Street and 5th Avenue.  

At these ceremonies, you will not wear your cap and gown, and you are permitted to bring as many family and friends as desired; tickets are not required or provided.  You are to report to this ceremony at least 45 minutes prior to its start and line-up in the church or auditorium basement.  

Please look for a staff member from your program; they will be handing you an index card with your name printed on it. Each student must have an index card; this card will be used during the ceremony to ensure that your proper name is announced.  At this ceremony all students names are announced individually.
